AFRICANIZED BEES!!!!!!!

The last day of school last year we found this in the tree right outside the office.
The Principals called the forestry department to come and take care of the problem. I wasn't really sure how they would accomplish this.
So far so good. At least he has the necessary protective gear.
How is he going to eradicate these bees with a stick with some old t-shirts wrapped around it?
Ohh he has gasoline, this should be fun.
Light the torch.
Pass the torch.
Get low and burn those mother fuckers up!
Mission accomplished.

Another Belize Bike

Here is some custom work. There is a machete sheath and a rack extension made from a piece of wood and an old inner-tube to strap it on. Kevina caught this from the bus when it stopped to pick someone up on the highway.

Funny stuff at the store

Solitary Man
I know it's david Beckham but it kinda looks like Justin Timberlake
What the fuck is up with that hat?

Dogs

Oh Puppies, why are they so damn cute?
I look pretty ugly in comparison
CAPPUCCINO!!!!!!!
Seriously, that's his name. I named him for my Host Dad. He has all the colors that a good cappuccino has, not to mention the huge ears.

Belize Motorcycles

I only have a few of them, I guess I'll just post more as I find them.

Here they are:
Trash bag upholstery
I really dig this style, you could make a nice little 125cc cafe racer
Clutchless four speed

Cruisin
I like the paint job
Is that a Yamaha Riva? (prequel to the Vino)
George's Bike
Peace Corps says I can't ride motorcycles but there is no rule against sitting on one that isn't running. (I checked)

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum!

Before I moved here I read a book about rum. It wasn't just about rum, it was actually a history book following the settlement of the "New World" and also the invention and history of Rum. It was such an interesting read. Buy it here.

This book was good that it convinced me to be really excited about moving to a place that consumes mostly rum. At first I enjoyed it. But now after two years I never want to taste it again. Here is what a Saturday evening looks like hanging out with some of my friends.

Caribbean Gold and Sprite by far the most common rum for me.

I decided to go to a grocery store (Or as we affectionately refer to it as "da Chiney") and take pictures of all the rums they carry. Keep in mind these are only the rums and not any brandy or other spirits that they make from sugar cane.

These bottles run from about $5 to $10 U.S. currency. It is really a bargain at that price but just not that good.

Seriously. If anyone offers me a rum drink when I get back to the state I will absolutely punch them in the face.

We don't want any cruise ship in our water.

Placencia willage, Belize

Pizza

The food that I miss the most is good old NY style pizza. It is pretty much the greatest thing in the world so I guess you can understand. Kevina made me some in the toaster oven. It was her first time so it needs a little bit of tweaking but it definitely hit the spot. We didn't really have any toppings so we just cooked some onions and carrots and threw that in the canned spaghetti sauce. Some times you have to be creative.

Drawstring bags

Everyone wears them here and I happen to love them. These are my three that I have gotten but I assure there are some even better ones with Tupac's face or even Obama with a whole "Commander in Chief" background. I may turn this first one into a back patch on a sweatshirt or something.
