Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum!

Before I moved here I read a book about rum. It wasn't just about rum, it was actually a history book following the settlement of the "New World" and also the invention and history of Rum. It was such an interesting read. Buy it here.

This book was good that it convinced me to be really excited about moving to a place that consumes mostly rum. At first I enjoyed it. But now after two years I never want to taste it again. Here is what a Saturday evening looks like hanging out with some of my friends.

Caribbean Gold and Sprite by far the most common rum for me.

I decided to go to a grocery store (Or as we affectionately refer to it as "da Chiney") and take pictures of all the rums they carry. Keep in mind these are only the rums and not any brandy or other spirits that they make from sugar cane.

These bottles run from about $5 to $10 U.S. currency. It is really a bargain at that price but just not that good.

Seriously. If anyone offers me a rum drink when I get back to the state I will absolutely punch them in the face.
