Here is a strange looking meal. The green stuff is calilou. It is very similar to spinach and we make it with onions, tomatoes, and garlic, sometimes we throw eggs in with it. It’s pretty tasty. The orange stuff is cohune cabbage. It is the middle of the cohune palm tree and in is one of the best tasting things in the world. They chop it up, boil it, then sauté it and then season it up and it is just awesome. Kevina (my wife) makes some pretty good tortillas so that is on the plate. Finally it is avocado season (they call it pear here) so we get them pretty cheep, about 50 cents (u.s. dollars) per avocado.
